LEAWOOD, Ks – Fans all over the metro are preparing for the World Series. Some rushing to buy tickets, others are grabbing up Royals gear. There’s one group that’s rushing to the kitchen.

“Friday morning we got an early phone call. The caller ID said Kansas City Royals, we all about died!”

They wanted Jennifer Balsbaugh to bake thousands of cookies for the Royals organization for the week of the World Series and it didn’t take her long to come up with an answer.

“I was like absolutely!” Balsbaugh said.

When the Royals clenched Friday night, employees at Blue Chip Cookies got to work. They’re putting together 150 boxes filled with 6 cookies, each with different icing designs.

“We have our very famous Cueto cookie.”

Blue Chip Cookies opened 20 years ago and has been making Royals cookies ever since.

“We love the royals we want to support them in any way, it's just our way of using our business to support the royals and ignite the fans.”

Now their boys in blue are returning the favor and supporting them.

“You know they could use any kind of executive celebrity chef but they're using us.”

Jennifer puts a lot of love into every cookie she makes but this batch, got a little extra TLC.

“We're just honored to get to do it for them.”

In each yummy bite comes a wish of good luck and some extra sugar for a Royals sweep.

“You think your cookies might do that for them?” Fox 4’s Megan Brilley asked.

“Absolutely. Without a doubt,” Balsbaugh said.
