OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Blue filled the congregation Sunday at Legacy Christian Church as church-goers embraced "Blue Sunday" and heard a message from the Pastor with ties to the Royals.

Reggie Epps is the Senior Pastor at Legacy Christian Church. Thirty years ago, he volunteered to give worship services in Royals Stadium for the Royals and the visiting team.

"It has been fun to remember 1985 and watch this team and I think there is an interesting comradery that marks both teams," Epps said.

On Sunday, Legacy Christian Church turned their clocks back to 1985 to embrace this royal blue day.

"I think it was just a fun way for us to celebrate what is happening in our city and use it as a way to talk about something we think is way more important, even more important than the World Series... a crown which will last for eternity," Epps said.

Behind the scenes, staff collected several hundred photos from church members showing their #BlueSunday spirit around town.
