OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Thousands of Royals fans are spending the weekend shopping at the GT Sports Marketing Show at the Overland Park Convention Center.

“We’re getting game used jerseys and hats and balls signed by this year’s team,” said Tim Clark.

The event was planned around Kansas City Chiefs bye week to allow players to come sign autographs, but the event brought in more than just NFL fans. Royals fans lined up to get autographs from players like Royals infielder, Christian Colon.

“Seeing the fans at the parade, so excited, so happy to see their team was incredible and we really thankful for that,” Colon said. “I haven’t slept much, it hasn’t really hit me yet, I figure it will take a while.”

Royals legend Frank White also signed autographs for fans and got a chance to hang out with former teammates.

“I got a chance to see a lot of guys that you don’t get to see on a regular basis so it’s been fun just sitting around reminiscing with all the guys,” White said.

Fans shopped for autographed helmets, jerseys, baseball bats, baseball cards and much more.

“They were bad for so long and all of the sudden they are world champions; it is just kind of still hard to believe I think,” said Royals Fan Mike Bennett.

The weekend-long event continues at 10 a.m. Sunday. Tickets to get in are $10.00.
