KANSAS CITY, Mo. —  Southwest Flight 5929, originally scheduled to fly from Indianapolis to Los Angeles was diverted to Kansas City International airport on Sunday because of ‘suspicious behavior’ displayed by several passengers.

According to the FBI, the flight crew diverted the flight to Kansas City out of an abundance of caution based upon the suspicious behavior. The individuals in question were removed from the plane and three individuals were questioned by law enforcement.  After questioning, the three individuals were rebooked to continue on a later flight.

As a further safety measure, the remaining passengers were deplaned and K-9 teams “swept” the aircraft.

This began at about 7:20 a.m. The aircraft was re-boarded and released to continue on its originally scheduled flight plan and departed at approximately 9:20 a.m.
