KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Police are investigating the disturbing discovery of human remains at a home near North 99th and Hutton on Thanksgiving day.

Police say at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, they were called out to a home in rural Wyandotte County for an armed disturbance.

While checking on that, they learned a seven-year-old boy had been missing for some time and was possibly dead at a nearby location.

They obtained a search warrant and while they were executing it on Thanksgiving Day, they reportedly found human remains in a shed.

One source says a 44-year-old man who lives in the home was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated battery and aggravated assault and is on a 48-hour hold, but no charges have been filed.

The man allegedly told police that he is a bail bondsman.
