Pedestrian hit while assessing damage to wrecked vehicle in northland

A pedestrian was hit Friday morning while trying to assess the damage to their vehicle after an accident.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the northland Friday morning due to slippery roads.

Kansas City, Mo., police say the accident happened along I-435 and the westbound ramp to Cookingham Drive.

According to officers, several cars were involved in the accident. The individual was hit by a car when they got out of their vehicle to assess the damage.

A fire truck was also hit in the same area, according to police.
