KANSAS CITY, Mo. – FOX 4 has learned one of Kansas City`s most famous steakhouses will reopen in the West Bottoms. The Golden Ox will resume business at its original location in the Stockyard District.
Bill Haw Sr., owner of the Livestock Exchange Building, confirms the once popular steakhouse that was a KC institution for 65 years will re-open sometime next spring on Genessee Street.
Haw says right now he`s not ready to say who will operate the restaurant. The longtime developer, who has invested millions in the West Bottoms area, says the Golden Ox will retain its original American cowboy look and theme, and steak-lovers will also see memorabilia from the original restaurant.
Haw also says that major renovations will be done before the grand reopening.
