Man and dog injured in shooting in 5400 block of Bennington

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Mo. police are investigating a shooting that left one person and a dog injured Tuesday.

Police say the shooting happened around 9:40 a.m. in the 5400 block of Bennington.

When officers arrived at the scene they found the victim at the neighbor’s home.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. A dog was also shot in the paw and is being treated at a vet for its injuries.

A small white car was seen leaving the scene and heading south on Bennington and later seen on 350-Highway, but police say they are not sure if the vehicle was involved in the shooting.

So far no suspect information has been released.
