Kansas City kicks off seventh annual Restaurant Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Restaurant Week kicks off across the metro Friday.

During the past six years, Kansas City Restaurant Weeks has raised more than $1-million for local charities. $310,000 of the money raised came from 2015 alone.

More than 185 restaurants across the metro will participate in the festivities this year.

The Children's Center for the Visually Impaired is just one of the many local charities that benefits from the money Restaurant Week raises.

Restaurant Week will run through Sunday, Jan. 24.

2016's beneficiaries include the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired, Boys Grow and Cultivate KC.
