KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals announced on Friday that they have agreed to one-year contracts with five players in an effort to avoid arbitration.

Right-handed pitcher Louis Coleman, catcher Tony Cruz , outfielder Jarrod Dyson, left-handed pitcher Danny Duffy and catcher Drew Butera all agreed to terms with the Royals. Their signing leaves only two unsigned arbitration-eligible players including, third baseman Mike Moustakas and outfielder Lorenzo Cain.

The Royals did not disclose the term of each players contract.
