Two people in intensive care after double shooting in KCMO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City, Mo., police are investigating a double shooting Monday.

Police say they were driving near 81st and Troost around 2:15 a.m., when they heard gunshots and were dispatched to the Park Ridge Apartment Complex.

When officers arrived at the complex, they found two separate shooting victims in two apartment units. Officers first found the reported suspect suffering from gunshot wounds to the arm and chest. The suspect told police someone shot at him.

Officers were then dispatch to another location where they found the shooting victim. The victim told police that he was trying to buy 'weed' when he was robbed and shot in the back.

Both victims were then taken to the hospital.

The two shooting victims are in intensive care with critical injuries.
