MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. -- Authorities captured a fugitive wanted for kidnapping on early Wednesday morning who's been on the run for months. The Grain Valley Police Department says that Michael P. Snider, 36, was arrested at a home near Gravois Mills, Mo., and is in the custody of the Morgan County Sheriff's Department.

Snider will be transferred to Jackson County for an Independence kidnapping and domestic assault case that prosecutors filed on June 24. A warrant was issued for his arrest when he missed a September court hearing.

Grain Valley police also suspect he was involved in another kidnapping in November, which prompted authorities to ask the public for help locating him.

According to a news release, there are still ongoing criminal investigations involving Snider in Grain Valley and Morgan County. Police say he was found as a direct result of an anonymous call to the Crimestoppers TIPS Hotline in Kansas City.
