INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- If you've got the day off for President's Day and you're looking for something to do, head over to the Truman Library. The library honoring Missouri's only president always offers a great learning experience, and for the presidential holiday, they're offering cookies.

Did you know Harry Truman's favorite cookie was butterscotch?

The library was offering all kinds of cookies, each with a special tie to a president. It's one of the library's busiest days of the year, with more than 800 people walking through the doors.

Staff offered a variety of cookies from James Polk's chocolate caramel fingers to Grover Cleveland's snickerdoodles.

"It is so well-received by everybody, and it is wonderful to see parents and grandparents bring their little ones here on President's Day. And of course, they love the cookies," one of the library's hostesses said.
