Three people injured in early morning shooting near Booth and Thompson

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating a triple shooting that happened early Thursday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the an area of Booth and Thompson around 2:40 a.m., upon reports of a shooting.

Initially officers were told that one person had been shot, but when officers arrived on the scene they found two additional people suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was shot in the stomach and her injuries are considered serious, but police say she is in stable condition.

The other two victims include a female who was shot in the foot and man who was shot in the leg. Both were transported to area hospitals to be treated for minor injuries.

Police have not yet released a suspect description.
