CLAYCOMO, Mo. -- Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff's Office and officers with the Claycomo Police Department were at the scene of a standoff on Thursday afternoon. A suspect wanted for felony tampering and fraud initially refused to surrender at a home near East Park and Drake Streets.

FOX 4's Robert Townsend reports that just before 4 p.m. the suspect came outside with his hands up and surrendered peacefully.

Eight of the suspect's neighbors were evacuated from their homes and relocated for the Claycomo Community Center when a tactical unit was deployed.
