KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Students at Frances Willard School in Kansas City, Kan., are celebrating Reading Across America as an annual tribute to Dr. Seuss.
Frances Willard students are among thousands across the country who will be reading Wednesday.
The annual Read Across America celebration not only honors Dr. Seuss the famous children's author, but it's meant to emphasize the importance of reading.
Students at Frances Willard are tracking the number of books they read and equating them to miles. One book equals one mile. Their goal is to travel across America. So far, they've traveled 5,478 miles.
They have only two days to reach their goal.
