The Peanuts characters may be 65 years old, but they’ve never looked better thanks to the 3-D computer animation of 'The Peanuts Movie.' Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang are back with a simple story that is in keeping with the sincere tone and low-key charm and of Charles Schulz’s beloved characters.

It serves as a likable introduction for youngsters and a pleasant nostalgia buzz for their parents and grandparents.

Warner Brothers

It's too bad that Ron Howard’s $100 million nautical adventure “In the Heart of the Sea” sunk to the bottom of the box office. The Oscar-winning filmmaker’s whaling epic is a visually impressive, handsomely produced saga about the tragic true story that provided the inspiration for Herman Melville’s classic novel, “Moby-Dick.”

RUSS

The movie’s $100 budget can be clearly seen up on the screen but the problem with “In the Heart of the Sea” is that it lacks the compelling notion of obsession and thematic depth that makes “Moby-Dick” a classic.
