KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- It’s the time of year when everyone’s Irish. Kansas City is getting ready for St. Patrick’s Day on Thursday.

That’s also when Midtown turns into a sea of green for the parade.

The parade will start at Linwood and Broadway. Groups are using what time they have left to get their float together in time for the parade.

Out of the 120 floats that will roll down Broadway in the St. Patrick’s Day parade, the Better Homes & Gardens float can be spotted near the front.

Volunteers constructed this cedar house that will later be raffled to a lucky winner. The goal of this float is to raise money for Harvesters. Within the past three years, they’ve raised more than $6,000.

That equates to about 18,000 meals for Harvesters.

This float already debuted at the Brookside St. Patrick’s Day parade. After a good run, volunteers said they’re ready to take on the big one this Thursday.
