Quentin Tarantino’s “Hateful Eight” is an excessively violent and grisly Western, but this time it’s supposed to be funny. A great cast is wasted in Tarantino’s weakest and most self-indulgent effort that makes extensive use of widescreen cinematography that will be less effective on the TV screen.  The saving grace is Ennio Morricone's Oscar-winning score.

“Point Break” is a pointless remake of the 1991 Keanu Reeves/Patrick Swayze action flick. This remake is about extreme athletes who commit eco-crimes and an FBI agent who infiltrates the group. It’s got great stunt work and a mindless script.
