Man acting as good Samaritan accused of sexually assaulting woman whose car broke down in Raytown

RAYTOWN, Mo. — A 41-year-old man could face charges of sexual assault after Raytown police arrested him for what a woman said he did to her after he offered to help her when her car broke down.

The 24-year-old woman says she was having car trouble on I-435 near 63rd Street on Monday morning.  The man stopped to help and offered her a ride to a convenience store. The man went inside the store for a few minutes and then drove her to a parking lot in the 9400 block of E. 63rd Street.

The woman said that the man groped her and sexually assaulted her, then he drove her back to her car. The man from Kansas City, Kansas man, was located and taken into custody.

The investigation was continuing and charges have not been filed.
