Sentencing continues for man convicted of killing four in Ottawa
OTTAWA, Kan. — Tuesday marks day two of the sentencing phase for a Kansas man convicted of killing four people, including an 18-month old infant.
Defense Attorney Timothy Frieden spent much of the morning questioning a counselor who treated Kyle Flack 10-years ago.
The testimony covered Flack’s mental illness and what the counselor described as Flack’s homicidal and paranoid state.
Prosecutor Stephen Hunting countered the defense witness testimony and said during the counseling sessions Flack demonstrated intelligence, self-awareness and understood his medications were working, but chose to stop taking his medication and declined additional services.
