KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A metro high school student will no longer be playing the blues, thanks to the FOX 4 Band of Angels, which presented Monica Lagunes, a junior at Alta Vista High School, with a French horn.

Up until Thursday night, Lagunes had to share her instrument with another student after the school's double French horn broke.

After a concert near the Plaza, the Band of Angels presented the high school student with an instrument of her own.

"It's my own instrument and I don't have to wait until school starts again to play.  I can just play in the summer," said Monica.

The Band of Angels is sponsored by Meyer Music and FOX 4. The organization works to raise money to send kids to summer music camps. Meyer Music also fixes donated instruments. Those instruments are given to metro students who otherwise may not learn to play an instrument. Click here for more on Band of Angels and instrument donations.
