LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. -- Two boys spent Sunday selling lemonade to raise money for the Lee’s Summit Police Department. Aiden Best and Nathan Perry said they wanted to show police that they appreciate all of their hard work.
“I feel like you haven’t really seen anybody thanking any of them right now so this is for them,” Best said. He told FOX 4 that school and church inspired him to do something nice for the local police department.
The two boys raised $50 and used it to buy donuts for the police officers and cinnamon rolls for the Lee’s Summit Fire Department.
“We felt like the police have done so much for us and they have nothing in return, they just did it because it’s their job,” said Nathan Perry.
After dropping off the treats police officers thanked the boys and let them check out their patrol cars.
