How foods cause stress in our bodies

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- April is "Stress Awareness Month" and an important component of managing your stress level is understanding what foods in your diet are causing your body stress.  Assistant personal training manager with Life Time Fitness Jennifer Havicon shares what foods cause more stress than others. Havicon also shared some foods that will help alleviate stress.

Foods that cause stress:
• Gluten
• Dairy
• Eggs
• Peanuts
• Soy
• Added Sugars

Foods that alleviate stress:
• ½ plate of non-starchy vegetables
• Quality protein sources
• Healthy fats
• Organic produce
