KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Between the fans flocking to the park, and the Royals team and staff about to receive their World Series rings, a lot of people have been waiting for this day with a lot of anticipation at Kauffman Stadium. But maybe no one was more excited than one lucky 6-year-old boy who got the experience of a lifetime.
He got to give that iconic call, "Play ball!"
Brady Welos was handpicked as he was walking into the stadium on Tuesday by two Royals cheerleaders. They said he looked so excited and decked out in his Royal blue, and knew even before talking to him that he was the right kid for the job.
Before he gave the call, he got to get a special behind-the-scenes look at some places at the K.
FOX 4 spoke with Brady before his big moment.
"I'm allowed to have fun and play around, and this is a fun place!" Brady said. "I was excited and I was looking forward to it."
And when the time came for that big moment, he nailed it. Great job, Brady.
