Jackson County sheriff’s deputy injured in crash along Southwest Trafficway

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating after a deputy was involved in an accident near 39th and Southwest Trafficway early Friday morning.

Witnesses say a vehicle was traveling along Southwest Trafficway just after 1 a.m., when they tried to make an illegal left-hand turn. The driver collided with a Sheriff's Deputy who was heading north on Southwest Trafficway.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Deputy was injured in the crash, but she is expected to be okay.

There is no word on the condition of the other driver.
