Fire investigators searching for clues into what caused apartment complex to go up in flames

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Fire investigators are still trying to determine what caused an apartment complex to catch on fire early Wednesday morning.

Fire crews were dispatched to the complex near St. John Avenue and Brooklyn just after midnight.

Firefighters say several families were inside the apartment complex when the fire broke out.

The apartment complex has extensive fire and water damage but no one was injured.

The Red Cross will be assisting the families who were displaced.
