KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City police are investigating after a man was shot and killed while walking down a neighborhood street on Wednesday afternoon.

A homeowner found the victim’s body in her driveway near Valentine and Belleview just after 5 p.m. Witnesses say a man was in the driveway just a block away, when a dark sedan drove up and someone fired gunshots.

A woman who lives in the home heard gunshots and ran downstairs to find a man bleeding in her driveway. Police say the man, 35-year-old Lewisarthur E. Hill,  was pronounced dead on scene.

There have been no arrests and not many details have been released in the homicide, but it's been the talk of the neighborhood all afternoon and evening.

Neighbors say they heard Hill did not live in the neighborhood, but was walking by at the time. They also heard it was a drug deal gone wrong, but police say there’s no way of knowing yet.

“You know, we don't know. Unfortunately drugs happen in nice neighborhoods as well. At this point we are finding out what happened -- talking to neighbors everyone is very cooperative,” said Sergeant Kari Thompson.

Witnesses say they saw two men in the car-- police couldn't confirm any suspect description, only that the suspect was driving a dark sedan.
