Shots fired at KCPD officers near Independence Ave. and Hardesty

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Officers had to take cover on Thursday night after someone fired gunshots in their direction in the area of 6th and Hardesty. The shooting location is a block south of the intersection at Independence Avenue and Hardesty, and happened just after 10 p.m.

According to dispatchers there were no known reports of injuries, and police continued to search for the shooter or shooters through Thursday night.
