It's no secret that summer means some of Hollywood's biggest hits will be hitting your local big screens. FOX 4's Russ Simmons and Shawn Edwards reveal the films they think will be worth seeing. You won't need your shades or sunblock when you head into the air-conditioned theaters to see these four blockbusters.

X-MEN APOCALYPSE

(MPAA rating not yet available)

Opens May 27th

20th Century Fox

RUSS

The latest installment in the franchise follows the ‘younger mutants’ timeline from “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Jennifer Lawrence is the nicer Mystique of days gone by and Michael Fassbender’s Magneto gets more than he can handle from Oscar Isaac’s mutant god, Apocalypse, the most powerful mutant of them all. Problem is, the appropriately named Apocalypse wants to cleanse the Earth of all mankind. Will the mutants step up to save the humans?

CAPTAIN AMERICA

(MPAA rating not yet available)

Opens May 6th

Disney/Marvel

SHAWN

Band-Aid, Vaseline, Jello-O. You know, brand names people use as generic terms. Now add Marvel to that list. It's the brand man. It's the brand man. And Marvel movies have proven that they only release automatic classics, and no one adapts comic book stories better. This time it's a Civil War. But it ain't the North versus the South. It's your favorite comic book heroes that are about to throw down like DJ Kool Herc at a block party in the Bronx back in 1973. Didn't catch that reference? Then please go Google Kool Herc. Seriously. Then go watch 'Captain America: Civil War.'

FINDING DORY

(MPAA rating not yet available)

Opens June 17th

Disney/Pixar

RUSS

Everyone’s favorite aquatic amnesiac returns to the big screen with “Finding Dory,” the 3-D animated sequel to 2003’s “Finding Nemo.” This time Dory, voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, sets off with Nemo and his dad to find Dory’s family when she has a sudden recollection of a childhood memory. Writer/director Andrew Stanton returns, too, so hopes for this one are as big as the ocean.

INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE

(MPAA rating not yet available)

Opens June 24th

20th Century Fox
SHAWN

I am excited to see 'Independence Day: Resurgence.' Not just because I landed a small part in the movie but because I was a huge fan of 'Independence Day' the movie that introduced Will Smith's cinematic swag. No Smith in this sequel. I know... But I have a feeling this movie is going to be a launching pad for the young Jesse Usher who plays Smith's character's son in the movie. Holla!
