KC man shot and killed the night before his son’s birthday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Kansas City, Mo. family said they know who killed their relative early Sunday, just hours before his son's birthday party.

While police did not release any suspect information, the family said the person who pulled the trigger is someone they've known for years.

The Bell family said 26-year-old D'Adrian Bell was shot and killed at a neighbor's house in the near 72nd Street and Olive Street around 12:30 p.m.

Bell's family said he was a father of four boys, with another son on the way. They said he worked hard cleaning cars at an auction dealer, and on Sunday, was missing is son's third birthday.

"His whole life, gone. Gone. Five kids ain't gonna know their daddy," said D'Andre Bell, the victim's brother.

Friends and family said the victim often went by the nicknames "Buddha" or "Pac-Man."
