Lawndale Avenue shooting leaves one dead

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating a shooting death that occurred early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday to the 300 block of Lawndale Avenue.

Upon arrival, police found one male victim located inside a residence. The victim was declared deceased that the scene.

Police identified the victim later on Sunday as Merle Kitchen, 57, of Kansas City, Mo.

There have been no arrests. Anyone with information is urged to call the TIPS hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
