LAPD confirms 2 killed in murder-suicide incident on UCLA campus

LOS ANGELES — UCLA campus police and LAPD responded to a possible active shooter situation on campus, according to KTLA.

Officials put the campus on lockdown as authorities investigated the incident at Engineering building 4.

UCLA Bruin Alert sent out a tweet saying the shooting occurred outside of an engineering building and asked students to get to a secure location.

A Los Angeles police spokesman says two male victims were killed in the shooting. The victims were reportedly located inside the engineering building.

After hours of securing the campus on Wednesday afternoon, LAPD confirmed the incident was a murder-suicide, and that the gun has been recovered. The identities of the victims and their relationship is currently unknown.

LAPD said the threat was completely contained, and that campus is now safe. The incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

There were thousands of students on campus for finals week.
