Two-vehicle collision on I-70 near Oak Grove causes injuries

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Transportation said that an injury accident involving two vehicles forced a closure in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near mile marker 31 on Wednesday afternoon. Just before 5 p.m., MoDOT announced the lanes had reopened.

According to a Missouri Highway Patrol crash report, two people were injured in the crash. The driver and passenger of a motorcycle were seriously hurt when they struck the rear of a Chevrolet truck at about 3:45 p.m.

The driver was sent to Centerpoint and the passenger to Research Medical Center. The truck driver was uninjured according to the report.
