INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- A tanker truck rolled over and is blocked northbound 291-Highway at Courtney Friday morning for nearly two hours.

Police say the driver was turning left onto northbound 291-Highway around 7 a.m., when the load shifted and pulled the cab over. Investigators say the driver may have taken the turn too fast.

The driver of the tanker was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Officers tell FOX 4 the tanker was carrying slag, which is a stony water matter.

Heavy-equipment tow trucks had to be called in to upright the tanker.
