KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Charges have been filed against the suspect involved in a high-speed chase with police on Tuesday.
Summer Jean Nigh, 31, was arrested after leading officers on a high-speed pursuit on Interstate 35. The chase began in Kansas City, Mo. and traveled into Overland Park, Kan. before it eventually ended in Kansas City, Kan.
Police performed a ‘pit’ maneuver on I-35 near 18th Street Expressway, which caused Nigh’s truck to skid out of control, striking a culvert between I-35 and 18th Street, and overturning, coming to rest on its roof.
One other vehicle was involved in the crash. The driver of that vehicle was not injured.
Nigh faces a charge of fleeing a law enforcement officer. Bond has been set at $50,000.
