KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Good-bye, Broadway Bridge.

The bridge many commuters travel for work is now named after Kansas City Monarchs legend Buck O’Neil.

Lawmakers passed the bill to rename the Broadway Bridge to the "Buck O'Neil Bridge," the announcement made on Friday.

Bob Kendrick, the president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, says it's a fitting tribute because Buck spanned baseball and the community.

Missouri state senators Jason Holsman and Ryan Silvey helped push this bill through congress, making Kendrick's dream a reality.
