Police find woman stabbed to death inside Kansas City home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police are investigating after one woman was found dead inside her residence Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a call around 9:30 a.m. to the 5500 block of Paloma Avenue in regard to a cutting.

Upon arrival, officers found one woman, reportedly stabbed to death inside the home. Police described the victim as a black female approximately 50 years old. Her identity has not yet been released.

Police were able to begin searching the home after obtaining a warrant Saturday afternoon.

KCPD is investigating the incident as a homicide, but there is no suspect description at this time.

A neighbor told FOX 4 that the victim lived with her brother. While FOX 4 crews were at the scene, a man crossed police tape and told officers that he was the victim's brother.

Police, who referred to him as "a person of interest," took that man away in handcuffs.
