KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A Kansas City, Kan., homeowner says she was asleep Thursday morning when mother nature wreaked havoc across the metro and caused a tree to topple over onto her home.

The home sits at 37th and Harmony.

The homeowner says when the large tree uprooted and toppled onto her house she slept right through it. She says she did not discover the mess until she woke up to go to the bathroom.

As of noon Thursday, insurance adjusters were waiting for a tree removal service to remove the tree before they go inside to assess the damage. Until then, it is not clear how much damage there is.
