One dead in shooting at Lee’s Summit house party

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — One person is dead after an overnight shooting at a house party in Lee’s Summit.

Police responded to a report of a shooting outside a house party taking place in the 1500 block of SE Long Place around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.

When officers arrived, they located one victim, described as a 20-year-old black male, shot in the chest. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not made any arrests. Anyone with information is urged to call the TIPS hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.
