KANSAS CITY, Mo. – FOX 4 is pleased to announce the Reaching 4 Excellence Young Achiever Scholarship Awards.

This is the 12th consecutive year -- and the 16th year overall that FOX 4 has spotlighted outstanding young people in the Kansas City region.

The four honorees represent the dozens of young people FOX 4 has featured over the past year.

FOX 4 is also pleased to have representatives of Sheet Metal Air, Rail and Transportation Workers’ Local Union Two as our Reaching 4 excellence sponsor once again.

As it has in past years -- the local is awarding each of our honorees a $1,250 scholarship to continue their studies on the way to exceptional and productive careers and adult lives.

Business manager Greg Chastain, and Jay Lind – financial secretary-treasurer and business representative were on hand as representatives.

Approximately 60 children and teenagers were featured as outstanding young people in the FOX 4 Reaching 4 Excellence series from last spring to this spring.

They were stellar in academics the arts, leadership, community service and volunteerism; overcoming obstacles, career exploration, heroism, and the like.

These four are top-tier in many of those categories -- selected as the Reaching 4 Excellence scholarship winners for 2016.

They include a magnificent musician and performing artist, a dynamic school and community leader, an inspiring victor over adversity, and a breathtaking scholar focused on making our world better for everyone.
