Your guide to the 2016 Missouri State Fair

SEDALIA, Mo. — The Missouri State Fair kicked off Thurs., August 11 and will run through Sun., August 21 in Sedalia, Mo.

The 114th Missouri State Fair will offer food, fun and entertainment to all who attend.

Tickets

Single-day tickets are just $10 for adults and $2 for kids ages 6 to 12. Kids 5 and under are free. Seniors age 60 and over are just $7.

Entertainment

Concerts include Brett Eldredge with Belles & Whistles, 3 Doors Down with Shaman’s Harvest, John Kay & Steppenwolf with Foghat and Molly Hatchet, Chris Janson with LOCASH, Jamey Johnson with John Anderson, Randy Rogers Band with Jason Boland and the Tragglers and Stoney Larue, and Lady Antebellum and Kelsea Ballerini.

New

New this year will be the following competitions: an eight horse hitch class draft horse hitches show, beef cattle shows, dairy cattle shows, rabbit shows, sheep shows, outlaw truck and tractor pull, Missouri Association Truck and Tractor Pull, lunch box special contest and “crop” fresh vegetable casserole contest.

Parking and Travel

Sedalia is approximately 86 miles southeast of Kansas City.

Single day general public parking is free.

For those not wanting to drive or looking for a unique way to arrive at the state fair, Amtrak is running a special for the Missouri River Runner route. Kids can ride to the Missouri State Fair for just $5. The deal runs through August 22 and is valid for two children per full-paying adult.

Kansas State Fair

The Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson, Kan., will run from Fri., September 9 through Sun., September 18. Hutchinson, Kan., is approximately 217 miles southwest of Kansas City. Click here for more information.
