Police identify body found in wooded area of KCK as 38-year-old KCMO man

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Kansas City, Kan., officers are on the scene of a homicide Monday.

Tom Tomasic with the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department  said that a city worker was mowing when the worker found a body in the woods near 46th and Leavenworth Road around 8:30 a.m.

Officer Tomasic said the body does not appear to have been in the woods for long, and the victim appeared to have died from a gunshot wound.

"We would say overnight probably at the longest," officer Tomasic said. "But until we can get in there and investigate we won't know everything for sure."

On Tuesday, police identified the victim as 38-year-old Joshua Bush of Kansas City, Mo.
