KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Tickets are now on sale for the American Royal World Series of Barbecue, which fires up at the end of October. On Monday, Aug. 22, 2013 grand champion of the contest, Smokey D's, fired up a grill on the FOX 4 front lawn and shared what barbecue aficionados can expect when they attend the competition.


Rib Preparation Tips

Learn Temperature Control - temp of 225-300 degrees on smoker/grill has best results

Pick Great Piece Of Meat - Look for thick cut ribs with good marbling

Choose The Right Wood - Any wood from a fruit/nut tree. Only use wood at beginning of cooking process.
