OTTAWA, Kan. — The boil order has been lifted for Ottawa, Kan. and nearby Princeton.

City officials said a water main coming from the city’s water treatment plant broke around 7 p.m. on Saturday which caused a loss of pressure. Inadequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.

It is unclear what caused the main to break. The boil order was lifted Tuesday morning.
