OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- A highway shooting sent one man to the hospital and closed one lane of US 69-Highway on Sunday.

Shortly before 7pm, an Overland Park Police officer in the area of the 9000 block of Bluejacket was flagged down by citizens reporting they heard gunshots in the area.

A caller reported seeing a vehicle driving the wrong direction on 95th Street, possibly coming from US 69-Highway.

A witness reported the vehicle was traveling southbound on Quivira and appeared to have a hole in the window that looked like a bullet hole.

Those callers followed the car until 110th and Oakmont.  That's when officers pulled the vehicle over and discovered the driver had been shot at least one time.

That driver was transported to an area hospital.

This is an ongoing investigation and further details will follow as they become available.
