The Kansas Turnpike Authority says one man is dead after being hit on Interstate 70 Thursday night. Investigators say a hitchhiker was hit by two vehicles while he was walking on the roadway.

A Kansas Highway Patrol lieutenant tells FOX 4 the victim was struck at about 8:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-70 near mile marker 210.

The first driver did not stop, and troopers are looking for that person.

The second driver to hit the man did stop.

The victim’s name has not been released, but investigators say he’s a 42-year-old man and they are working on notifying family.
