KCK police investigate 26th homicide of the year

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- One person is dead following a shooting in Kansas City, Kan., late Wednesday night.

Police say just before midnight, they were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of S. 12th Street where they found a Hispanic man lying in the street. The man was dead from gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe it was a drive-by shooting.

Police say they do not have any suspects at this point and did not give any vehicle description.

Police have also not yet released the victim's identity. They're waiting until family is notified.

This is the 26th homicide in KCK this year.
