Man shot in chest and hand during attempted robbery, police say he’ll be okay

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- One person was injured in a shooting in Kansas City, Mo., early Wednesday morning.

Police say around 2:30 a.m., a man in his 30s called 911 to report that he had been shot near Linwood and Agnes.

Investigators believe the victim was shot during an attempted robbery. The victim told police a younger male approached him for a light for a cigarette before the man robbed him.

Police say the man was shot twice in the chest and once in the hand, but the shots grazed him.

At first the man's injuries were considered life-threatening because he had lost a lot of blood, but police now say the man is expected to be okay.
