KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police were inside and around a home in south Kansas City near 87th and Crescent on Wednesday afternoon, executing a search warrant at the home that belongs to Kylr Yust's grandfather. Yust, 28, was reportedly the last person seen with Jessica Runions, 21, of Raymore, who has been missing since Thursday, Sept. 8.

A friend says Runions left a party with Yust, a man known to police because he once dated Kara Kopetsky of Belton, who was 17-years-old when she disappeared in May 2007. Yust was never charged with Kopetsky's disappearance.

Two days after Runions disappeared, her car was found abandoned and torched near Blue River Road and Bannister Road. Yust was arrested on Sunday morning, Sept. 11, in Benton County, about two hours southeast of Kansas City. He was charged with "knowingly burning" Runions's SUV.

On Wednesday, Crime Watch Daily, which can be seen on FOX 4 at 1:00 p.m. immediately following FOX 4 News at Noon, aired a segment on Runions' disappearance and the connections between Yust, Runions and Kopetsky.

Crime Watch Daily's Andrea Isom traveled to Kansas City for the story and recalls seeing what she now believes was Runions' vehicle at Yust's grandfather's home. She also wonders if the woman who came to the door briefly during that same visit, was also Runions.

Then on Wednesday, police began their search of the home at East 87th Street and Crescent Avenue.

FOX 4 will have more on the search during FOX 4 newscasts and updates on this developing story on the fox4kc app and online at fox4kc.com. Watch the Crimewatch Daily report in the player above.

Yust was held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
